A translation agency, Translations.hr (ABIS d.o.o.), is aware of the importance of protecting personal data, primarily because we use it to provide more appropriate services and information to our clients. Any personal information (such as website usage data acquired via the use of so-called cookies) tells us more about what our users are interested in and allows us not to overload the website with content that is not relevant to them.

What is personal data?
‘Personal data’ means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, that is, an individual, regardless of the form in which it is stored.
The following are common types of personal information: name, email address, citizen’s ID number, tax number, health insurance number, telephone number, vehicle registration number, bank account number, etc.
Special category data includes personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation, etc.

Where do we store your personal information and for how long?
Your personal information, which we received with your explicit consent, is stored in digital or physical form in the archive (depending on the type of personal information obtained). The archive is properly secured and authorized by ABIS d.o.o. employees.
The personal information you provide to us electronically is stored on our servers at our company premises and sometimes at the companies whose tools we use. For example, web hosting or an email communication tool provider stores recipient information. ABIS d.o.o. cooperates exclusively with the leading providers of the aforementioned services and tools that are also subject to the EU Directive, and as such have well-established data protection mechanisms and guarantee that they would never use any of our clients’ data.
We hold your personal information until you withdraw consent to the storage and processing of your personal data, i.e. for as long as it is necessary to achieve the purpose for which the data are processed or to satisfy legal requirements.

We collect, use and process your personal information for lawful purposes only and with your explicit consent.
On our website you will find forms that you are required to complete with your personal information that we need for the purposes specified by law (or contract), such as first name, last name, company information, address and contact information.
Your personal data is used solely for the following purposes:
submitting a job offer or a translation quote (if requested)
execution of services (delivery of translations or sending interpreters and equipment if needed for the execution of the service – e.g. simultaneous interpretation)
collecting IP addresses from which users accepted cookies on the website
website-use analysis to display user-friendly web content
What are cookies?
An HTTP cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user’s web browser while a user is browsing a website. The vast majority of websites record your activity on websites. When the user browses the same website in the future, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website to notify the website of the user’s previous activity on that website, and thus improve the user experience.
